Trigonometry & Calculus Teacher/Coach

My name is Tim McWhorter. I started at LCS in 2001 and taught secondary math and coached a variety of sports. I stepped away to pursue some business interests in 2014 and returned to Lincoln in the fall of 2019. I am currently teaching high school math and coaching football and baseball. My wife Bethany is also a high school math teacher at Lincoln and we are privileged to be a part of the LCS and COTM family.

Algebra 1 Teacher/Math Department Head/Head MS Volleyball Coach

My name is Kara Stahl and this is my twenty-second year teaching at LCS. I was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Grand Valley State University where I majored in math and earned a minor in elementary education. After teaching for two years in Michigan, I moved to Tulsa and worked part-time for two years while raising my three young children. I then began teaching kindergarten at LCS and after one year, found my sweet spot coaching volleyball and teaching junior high and high school math. I love teaching Algebra 1 and coaching junior high volleyball because I get to speak into students’ lives and help lay the groundwork needed for their success in both high school math and volleyball.

Geometry & Pre-Algebra 8 Teacher

My name is Bethany McWhorter and I teach Geometry at LCHS. I have taught math for 10 years both in the classroom and online. This is my 6th year at Lincoln. My husband is Coach Tim McWhorter who also teaches math and coaches football and baseball at LCS. We have four children; Kayce (23), Tyler (17), Lydia (10) and Vivian (6). We are long time attenders of COTM. As I was finishing up my teaching degree, I knew I wanted to work at Lincoln because of what I saw at COTM. I believed in the mission and vision that Pastor George had when starting this school. It also helped that Tim, who I was dating at the time, was already employed at LCS. :) One fun fact about me is I'm from Montana, and during the summers after high school, I worked for the forest service fighting forest fires up in the mountains.

Economics/Math of Finance/Head Basketball Coach

I have been married to Laura Hopkins for 25 years. We have three children: Audrey (17), Ava (9) and Levi (8). I have been a teacher and a coach for 15 years, and this is my second year at Lincoln Christian. Laura and I chose to enroll our children in LCS when we moved to Tulsa 5 years ago because of the emphasis that Willie George Ministries and Church on the Move have placed on children's ministry. I was out of education for 8 years, when the head boy's basketball job opened up two years ago, it was the only job that I would have considered applying for because my children were enrolled here. I count it an honor to be able to give back to a school that has invested so much into my children. I enjoy all types of off-roading and 4 wheeling with the family!
