Our History

Born out of the heart of Church on the Move, Lincoln has always been an extension of the church’s mission-carrying forward its leadership, values, and vision for Christ-centered education.

Humble Beginnings (1997-Present)

Founded in 1997 with four students, Lincoln Christian School began as a Christ-centered education for Church on the Move staff families. From the start, faith, character, and academic excellence have been at its core.

Intentional Growth & Culture Building (1997–Early 2000s)

Starting with grades K-5, Lincoln expanded quickly due to high demand. Committed to character and values, it prioritized student merit over mass transfers, fostering a strong school culture from the beginning.

Academic & Athletic Expansion (2001–Present)

Lincoln introduced football in 2001 as a leadership program, growing in athletics, fine arts, and music. By 2009, it won its first OSSAA football state championship, establishing a competitive presence in Oklahoma.

Impactful Leadership & Faculty (2002–Present)

In 2002, Darren Melton’s leadership strengthened the football program and school culture. He became Head of School in 2023, continuing Lincoln’s commitment to Christ-centered excellence. Faculty and staff have shaped curriculum and student mentorship.

“Enrolling at Lincoln isn’t just about choosing a school—it’s about becoming part of a community. That’s why so many families from other churches bring their kids here. They may not all attend Church on the Move, but they find belonging in this community. We invite you to check us out, make the Lincoln commitment, and experience a place that is both demanding and deeply rewarding.”

Accreditation & OSSAA Membership (2004–2007)

Lincoln earned state accreditation in 2004, ensuring high academic standards. By 2007, it joined OSSAA, allowing student-athletes to compete statewide and strengthening the school’s reputation in both academics and athletics.

Growth in Student Enrollment & Facilities (2010–Present)

Enrollment surpassed 500 by 2010 and now exceeds 1,000. Facility expansions—including athletic fields, classrooms, and performing arts spaces—have supported Lincoln’s mission of faith, leadership, and academic excellence.

The Vision for the Future (2020s & Beyond)

Looking ahead, Lincoln remains focused on raising the next generation of Christian leaders through godly character, academic excellence, and extracurricular activities. Our vision for the next decade includes facility improvements, curriculum advancements, and a deepened partnership between Lincoln, Church on the Move, and families.
