Why I’m A Principal: Secondary Principal- Whitney Warren
Growing up in the small town of Piedmont, OK, I loved going to school, playing sports, being part of teams, and allowing teachers/coaches to pour into my life. I remember my principal Royce Pennington showing me grace I did not deserve, my coaches pushing me to limits I never knew existed, and teachers speaking hard truths even when I was not ready to hear them. The Piedmont Wildcat family helped me grow into the woman I am today, and I’m forever grateful.
When I entered college, I was determined to be a nurse, but thank God, He intervened and called me to be an educator in a school setting. Teaching/Coaching (the words are synonymous to me) kids brings me great joy, and I know that His purpose in me is being fulfilled. I look forward to hallways filled with kids, ball games, theater and music performances, praise & worship, pep rallies, playoffs, homecoming, prom, Disney, etc. I value every moment of helping students pursue their calling, aiding parents in raising the next generation of leaders and using my experiences to train teachers.
When God said in Romans 8:28 that “we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose,” I experience this every day. My past experiences, both hellish and heavenly, have been worked together for my good, and I use those experiences every day to do my best to point people to Christ. He designed my purpose when He created me in His image. I wholeheartedly believe I am walking in my purpose as I build relationships with others, encourage the leaders of tomorrow, and continue to learn through every encounter I have with my Father.
I’m so thankful He chooses to use me at Lincoln Christian School. The Piedmont Wildcats may have molded me, but it is definitely the characteristics of the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs which has transformed me.
