Making Dollars and Sense of Private School Tuition

July 1, 2021

Many love the idea of Christian Education but wonder “How I could possibly fit that into the budget?"

Here are a few ideas and resources that may be helpful to you.

  • Look into the Oklahoma 529 College Savings Plan. This plan can also be used for tuition at K-12 private schools.
    • Did you know that a 529 savings plan allows you to simply flow your tuition payments through the plan and make those dollars exempt from Oklahoma State income tax? You can literally avoid OK State tax by doing an ACH to the plan, then doing an ACH to LCS from the plan rather than sending the money directly to LCS. Take a quick look at the Oklahoma 529 Plan here.
  • A few Native American Tribes offer scholarships to tribal members. Be sure to check Tribal resources.
  • Apply for Financial Assistance .
    • Lincoln Christian School has partnered with the Opportunity Scholarship Fund (OSF) for the distribution of need-based scholarships for current and incoming enrolled students to LCS.
    • For more information about the process and where to apply email info@lincolnchristianschool.com

There are many ways to find the funds necessary for sending your child to LCS, these are just a few to get you started.
